Corporate Social Responsibility in Indian Companies The project aims for capacity building in the field of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and the regional extension of the training and consultancy services of the Indian CII-Center of Excellence for Sustainable Development (CII-CESD), especially for small and medium-sized enterprises (SME). Furthermore, the exchange of knowledge of Corporate Social Responsibility in the SAARC region as well as internationally will be strengthened. Further information is available here |

The Foundation of an International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) Growing global energy consumption, constantly rising prices for energy and partly disastrous impacts of climate change allude clearly to a rapid expansion of renewable energies worldwide. In commission of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety, Adelphi supports the ambitions of the German Federal Government to found an International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA). As a first step, a preparatory conference with 170 participants from 60 countries took place in the German Foreign Office in Berlin from 9 -11 April 2008. Initiative for Peacebuilding (IfP) Within the frame of the European Commission's new Conflict Prevention Network, titled Initiative for Peacebuilding, Adelphi Research will conduct evidence-based research with a view to provide guidance for external actors to harness the peace potential of the environment. Adelphi's research will focus on regional environmental and natural resource cooperation in South Caucasus, the African Great Lakes region and Middle East. “Business as unusual” – the Seed Award 2008 Adelphi Consult supports the third international competition of the Supporting Entrepreneurs for Environment and Development (Seed) Initiative (www.seedinit.org), which will be launched annually as of 2008. The call for proposals will be open between 01 February and 16 March 2008. New Project: IEeWASTE – Indo European e-Waste Initiative The e-waste sector in India faces dual challenges of it’s difficulties in coping with the sheer quantity of e-waste (locally generated or imported) and the lack of adequate means or knowledge of handling certain recycling processes.
